Part 1 Introduction.
This will be some general rules to follow in the beginning, and introduction into what it is to be a psychonaut... Psychonautics is a term that loosely means “a sailor of the soul” it refers to someone who likes to explore altered states of consciousness, or who explores altered states of consciousness often. They can use meditation, dreams or substances to get there... the substances is where I excel or specialize in the most.
Part 2. Rules
Before taking any substance you most ask yourself some basic questions and know some basic guidelines.
Rule 1. don’t start an experience unsure if you want it or scared that could lead to a very long and miserable time.
Rule 2. if you have never done this before and are not experienced have a sitter and some fall backs in place Incase you are not ready or things start to go south, this rule can be ditched by people who know themselves well or are experienced.
Rule 3. Learn your substance and what might happen ahead of time to prepare yourself.
Rule 4. Don’t freak out or try to back out... you bought the ticket you must take the ride.
Rule 5. You must remain calm, and in control of your emotions if not they may control you in an unpleasant way.
Rule 6. If you are hiding something from yourself or have unresolved issues be prepared to deal with them, psychedelics have a way of bringing these things to the surface and forcing you to confront these issues head on, this does not always happen but is very common.
Rule 7. Respect the medicine and go into the experience physically, mentally, and spiritually prepared for what might happen.
Rule 8. Non of these rules are set in stone but they are general guidelines to help you have the best experience possible and be as prepared as possible.
